CloverETL 3.3.0-M1 – Simplified Processing of Excel Spreadsheets

CloverETL is now developed in two parallel tracks to allow for both continued product stability and a quick availability of new features. Thus, the software packages are "split" in this way: into production and milestone tracks. With the production track, users can maintain their operations, while the milestone track helps users get a head start on new feature implementation and testing in their IT operations.

This milestone release brings users a list of enhancements, the major improvement being the new Spreadsheet components for easier parsing and processing of Excel data.

New Excel Components – Spreadsheet Processing Made Easy

The new Excel spreadsheet components (SpreadsheetDataReader/Writer) are replacing the current XLS components. The new components allow for processing of complex Excel structures such as records split into multiple lines, horizontal orientation of records, and so on. Mapping of Excel headers and records is made easy and intuitive through a brand new visual editor. Also, the creation of metadata is automated. To generate standardized Excel reports and files, users can take advantage of Excel templates or overwriting and appending to existing files.

Check out the four videos below to learn more about some of the features brought by the new components:

CloverETL 3.3.0-M1 - Locking

Graph Elements Locking – Safety for Team Work

Graph elements like metadata, connections, parameter files, etc. can now be locked. A lock is a simple mechanism for cooperative environments that indicates, or warns, users that a shared resource should not be modified. The lock can be removed by team members, as graph element locks are not means of security - but anyone choosing to do so will understand to proceed with caution before modifying the team's work.

Metadata Grouping in Outline – Tree Structure Organization for Metadata

Metadata can now be organized into groups - kind of like folders on the file system. This is especially helpful for projects containing a large number of metadata, as it improves work efficiency.
