In this lesson you will
- Learn how to find a desired specific component (Shift+Space)
- Filter input data
- Write filtered data into an Excel spreadsheet
- Learn about metadata propagation
Shift+Space opens the Add Component dialog.
It is possible to insert a component between two existing components by simply dropping it onto an edge.
For many components, CloverETL can automatically propagate metadata so that you don’t have to assign them manually to each edge.
You can use the ExtFilter component to filer data based on a true/false expression.
1 ExtFilter > Filter Expression
Filter expression is a TRUE/FALSE condition that sends records out of ExtFilter to either first (TRUE) or second (FALSE) output ports.
2 Filter Editor
CloverETL supports not only local files but also remote access for both reading and writing.
Remote file protocols supported:
FTP, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP, HTTPS, Amazon S3, SMB, HDFS, WebDAV
ZIP, TAR, GZIP
Use SpreadsheetDataWriter to output data to Excel format (.xls or .xlsx). For basic configuration, you don’t need to configure anything else other than the output filename. However, you can create complex forms, multiline records, etc. using the powerful mapping editor.
