Installation Guide

You have three options in installing the CloverETL Designer. The easiest and fastest way is to download CloverETL bundled with the Eclipse development platform. The other two options are installing CloverETL as an Eclipse plugin. The plugin can be installed either via online update site or you can download the plugin and install it offline.

Online Plugin Installation

We assume that you have Eclipse installed. Two plugins of Eclipse are required for CloverETL Designer:

• GEF: http://www.eclipse.org/gef/
• RSE: http://www.eclipse.org/dsdp/tm/

Step 1

You need to create an account prior installing a trial version. Or you need to have a license number and password in case you want to install a licensed version.

Download CloverETL Designer in the following way:
Choose Help -> Install New Software... from the main menu.

A window with available software will open:

Click the Add... button. The window for adding a new site will open.
If you are a customer, type there:

	CloverETL Designer

	http://designer.cloveretl.com/update

In case you are installing a trial version, the location is different

	http://designer.cloveretl.com/eval-update

 

Remember!

You can only have one CloverETL site in Eclipse. Otherwise, you will be prompted to fill in your license number and password for all of these sites.

(Remember that whenever you are asked to fill in your username, you must type your license number instead!)

Step 4

When you click OK, you will be prompted to fill in

• Either your license number and password you recieved in an email, if you are a customer,
• Or your username and password that you have received in the registration email, if you are installing a trial version.

Step 5

Once you have filled in your license number and password and clicked OK, CloverETL Designer will be found. Select and expand its item after which the window will look like this:

When you click Next, you will see an overview of products to be installed:

Click Next again and select I accept the terms in the license agreements.

Step 8

Then click Finish. And you will be asked to restart Eclipse.



When you click Yes, Eclipse will restart with CloverETL Designer plugin installed into it.
 

Step 9

If you have the full version (not Community) of CloverETL Designer, you will need to activate it by providing a license key.
