Installation Guide
You have three options in installing the CloverETL Designer. The easiest and fastest way is to download CloverETL bundled with the Eclipse development platform. The other two options are installing CloverETL as an Eclipse plugin. The plugin can be installed either via online update site or you can download the plugin and install it offline.

Prerequisites
CloverETL requires Java 1.6. A JDK is required to run Java transformations but most of the graphs will run with JRE. You can install JDK during the installation of CloverETL Designer (see Step 2).
Step 1
Download CloverETL installer. You need to be signed in to either your user or customer account to download it.
Step 2
When the download is finished, run the downloaded installer. Follow the wizard instructions to install CloverETL. In the 4th step of the Installation Wizard, you can choose if you want to install JDK or not. If you have Java 1.6 installed on your computer, you can change the default option.
You can start CloverETL Designer in the last step of the Installation Wizard if you leave the "Run CloverETL Designer" button checked or you can start it from the Start menu.
Step 3
After the first start of CloverETL Designer, you will be prompted to select a location for your workspace. This is the directory where your CloverETL projects will be stored.
Step 4
When you select the location, CloverETL Designer will open.
Step 5
If you have the full version (not Community) of CloverETL Designer, you will need to activate it by providing a license key.
Step 6
Check your configuration: Window → Preferences → Java → Installed JREs:

Java 1.6 (JDK or JRE) should be visible and checked. If you don't see it, add it and check for usage (see Setting Java Runtime Environment).
